Gatehouse is proud to announce the release of two new publications, Spring and Strangers Hall, launched on Monday May 11th at the Cafe Writers meeting at Jurnets Bar, Norwich.
Spring is the annual collection of poetry from Cafe Writers, the second in the series following Gift, published last year. Edited by Bloodaxe poet and Poetry Archive editor Helen Ivory (The Double Life of Clocks, The Dog in the Sky, The Breakfast Machine), this collection of poetry themed around spring features work from poets around the country, many of whom have read at Cafe Writers, including George Szirtes, Meirion Jordan, Jo Kjaer, Thomas Warner, Penelope Shuttle, Jenny Morris, Susan Utting and Esther Morgan among others.
Strangers Hall is the 2009 Norfolk Commission Winner Meirion Jordan's poetic exploration of the history of Norwich based on the musuem at Strangers Hall. Born in 1985 and a graduate of the UEA MA in poetry, Meirion is a rising star of British poetry. Gatehouse is proud to publish this collection of what Helen Ivory calls "intelligent poems written with a historian's eye and a very finely tuned ear." This is the second Norfolk Commission-winning collection published by Gatehouse, and is essential reading for all those interested in both the history of Norwich and the art inspired by and produced here. Strangers Hall is available in hardback format (limited edition signed by the author) and in a fold-out reversible A2 pamphlet size, complete with seal and red ribbon.
Both publications are available for purchase direct from Gatehouse at the discounted price of £6.00 (rrp £7.95) including postage and packaging. The pamphlet version of Strangers Hall is available direct from Gatehouse at £3.00 (rrp £3.95) including postage and packaging.
